Grandmother's Jewels Circles Made from a 100% plain-woven72" x 82" A few years ago I began hand piecing jewel shapes together as one might make a Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt. When I had made 30 or more flowers, I decided I would applique them on top of a pieced background for a quilt. The first background I made was deep blues and too dark and the flowers didnt show up. So I designed a lighter background, but when it was sewn I liked it as it was. The flowers were too much. Several designs later I
