He was active from 1846. The spoon is marked with the second fineness hallmark, Minerva's head, year letter 'a' for 1860, and the maker's mark HA183. The bowl of the spoon is engraved with the following text: Grietje Jans van der Wal was born on January 24, 1818. She was a daughter of Jan Klazes van der Wal and Hylkje Broers Piersma. Weight: 46. 4 grams. Length: 18 cm.
